Cardinal de Richelieu

The Red Eminence · 24 m²

Cardinal de Richelieu

Cardinal red, a secret staircase and a medieval frieze on the wall: a solemn room paying tribute to the Cardinal who wished to preserve the building, his sister having married the Lord of Rivau.

Cardinal de Richelieu was born a few leagues from Rivau, in Touraine. He is celebrated as the cardinal-minister who built 17th-century France. The room bearing his name is steeped in crimson, tuffeau stone and oak woodwork. The pink stone bathroom completes the refined décor: a scholar's room, intimate and solemn, perfect for history lovers.
