The hotel's grand suite, dedicated to René d'Anjou — king, poet, patron and author of the Livre du Cœur d'amour épris.

René d'Anjou held his court between Saumur, Angers and the Loire. To dazzle his beloved, Jeanne de Laval, he staged a tournament recreating the château du Rivau, where the horses of the Kings of France were bred. The suite bearing his name is the hotel's largest: a grand drawing room, a main bedroom in the so-called Lombard tower, a bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a dressing table. Often reserved for honeymoons — hence its nickname, the "bridal suite".
